Summary: | SCOTLAND kissed goodbye to their three-match winning streak at Firhill last night as well as bidding adieu to half a dozen players ineligible for the next European Championships. The Scots simply lacked the guile to break down a strong, well- organised Lithuanian defence having failed to properly recover from the early blow of losing a goal just 30 seconds after kick-off. A mix- up between Andrew Jordan and Gary Naysmith allowed Fomenka to run clear on the right, and his cut-back riccocheted to Ksanavicius who calmly slotted the ball home. The Scots came back from this early setback with Hugh Davidson and Gavin Strachan particularly prominent, and the visitors were pegged back around their own penalty area, although they still looked dangerous on the break. |
