Landlords and tenants should check the new rating lists now, because the figures could have an impact on the best time to serve a notice terminating a business lease if statutory compensation is payable at the end of the lease. Business tenants may be entitled to compensation if a landlord serves a notice terminating the tenant's lease or responds to the tenant's request for a new lease with a notice confirming - in either case - that the landlord will oppose an application fora new lease for one or more of the following reasons (but no others).
