Summary:  I WISH to respond to Rizal Hashim's open letter addressed to me under the heading "Dear Tan Sri RE: The end of your tenure as Sports Commissioner" published in Weekend Mail on Dec 22-23. Thanks to [Datuk Seri] Azalina, I have had the opportunity of serving the government for almost five decades. She also made me the first full-time Sports Commissioner. Indeed, I'd like to give her credit for being able to see the need for a full-time Sports Commissioner, a position which in the past was merely regarded fit for part-timers only. I have faith in Datuk Seri Azalina's leadership. Datuk Seri Azalina calls the Sports Commissioner her 'sheriff'. But the way people are taking pot shots at him makes him appear to be more of an outlaw than a lawman.
