Summary: | THE ONE Cast: Jet Li, Carla Gugino, Delroy Lindo, Jason Statham THIS latest chop-socky feature of Li is akin to having a meal of chopsuey - it is not as good as it looks. With X-Files director James Wong at the helm, expect The One to be packed with tonnes of martial arts scenes, set against a sci-fi background. Yulaw (Li, doing a better job as a baddie here) is from the Multiverse, of which Earth is part of, and where each human being lives out separate but parallel lives in the various spheres. In order for him to become complete, or as The One, he has to kill his 124th equal, or Gabe (Li in a dual role), who is a Los Angeles county sheriff on Earth, and could have fooled everyone with his heavy Chinese-accented English. LOVE ME, LOVE MY MONEY Cast: Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Shu Kei, Teresa Mak Kar Kei, Gordon Lam Kar- Tung, Wong Yat-Fei IF you really must watch this unfunny romantic comedy, Mak would be the reason for doing so. The buxom beauty almost steals the show from her two illustrious co-stars, Leung and Shu Kei, with her convincing portrayal of a lascivious temptress. |
