Summary: | Sir, - Minister of Internal Security Tzahi Hanegbi went up on the Temple Mount ("Hanegbi visits Temple Mount," October 23). This underscores the government's policy of once again allowing non- Muslims to do so. Sir, - Thank you for Or Goren's op-ed "Being gay in Jerusalem isn't 'provocative,'" (October 28). As an Orthodox resident of this holy city and a new immigrant, I find [Harry Langer]'s logic puzzling. All these years, countless Christians and some Jews have prayed to Jesus right here in Jerusalem's churches and Langer tolerated it, although idolatry, like homosexual activity, is identified as an abomination in the Torah. All these years, countless Jews have been eating in Jerusalem's many nonkosher restaurants, driving on Shabbat, and having their civil marriages recognized by the state. |
