Summary: | We are proud to say that in four years our organization has managed to foster a good relationship with more than 700 Christian organizations and thousands of persons all over Norway. Many are now working to balance the media attacks on Israel. We regret the fact that some Israeli politicians seem more concerned about their own welfare than about the fate of Eretz Israel and Judea and Samaria, the heartland of everything Jewish. Sir, - I am dubious about Yossi Klein Halevi's point in writing so favorably about Israeli Arabs' trip to the European Nazi death camps ("Mutually subversive journey," July 18). While this was supposedly to sensitize them to the suffering of the Jewish people, such stunts merely comport with liberal superstitious beliefs about the transforming power of education and paint a false picture of Israel's situation. Anyone who has had experience with education knows it simply doesn't transform deeply rooted cultural biases and character traits. No such trip will get Arabs to abandon their deeply ingrained passion to hate Jews and regard them as despicable invaders of the Islamic realm. Sir, - Shoshana Feldman makes a very strong case for not having casinos in Israel (Letters, July 3). Many years ago a very good friend and strong supporter of Israel, himself the owner of the largest chain of betting shops in the UK as well as of many casinos, stated quite emphatically that Israel should not open any casinos. |
