Summary:Sir, - Abba Eban, a master of expression, contradicted himself at times in his career. At the time of the Six Day War he coined his most-quoted and descriptive saying - "Auschwitz borders" - to describe Israel's 1967 boundaries. It is still relevant today. However, the sentiment was diametrically at odds with his views in later years (Editorial, November 18), when he became a defender of the now-defunct Oslo Accords. Sir, - Maybe Labor could also tell prospective voters that everyone who votes for them will receive the winning Lotto ticket, too? ("Mitzna, give the voters a choice," November 13). When Uri Avnery's "great majority of Palestinians" who "want peace," begin turning the cold- blooded murderers of innocent men, women and toddlers in to Israeli authorities instead of harboring them, I may start to believe there are some Palestinians who want peace. Sir, - Bert Zauderer is completely right when he cites the Hatam Sofer's legal ruling that it is a mitzva for Jews to work the land of Israel and not hire non-Jews; also when he lauds the value of working with one's own hands (Letters, November 1).
