Summary:Sir, - The saddest aspect of the "petty haggling" and "distasteful" machinations to form a stable coalition is the absence of outrage and protest from an apathetic Israeli populace that has become inured to the all-too- frequent spectacle of selfish and power-hungry politicians childishly trading barbs and blame ("Naked ambitions," Editorial, December 19). * The accusation that UNRWA perpetuates the refugee problem is based on the misconception that removing the agency would somehow make the refugee issue disappear. In fact, it has long been recognized that a solution to the Palestine refugee problem hinges upon a political settlement among the parties involved. Sir, - Wouldn't it be nice if Mordechai Vanunu and his supporters were to broaden their anti-nuclear bomb concern to include all the stockpiles throughout the world and not limit themselves exclusively to what the position may be in Israel? (""Vanunu defies restrictions by holding press conference," December 20).
