Summary: | In response to Amnon Goldberg's comment on my letter to the editor, concerning when we start counting the 5762 years since creation, I would like to call to my defense none other than King David: "For a thousand years in Thy sight are but like yesterday when it is past..." (Psalms 90,4). One day of creation was not an ordinary day, but a "Day of God", an age - "With Him a thousand years, nay a thousand thousand ages, are but a day that is past ... human measurement of time cannot apply to the first three days, as the sun was not then in existence. In one week we read in the JP about the burning of the photo shop pandering porn to the Haredi young men, who seem very happy to receive it. Alongside that was an in-depth story about unsuspecting young Russian women being sold into white slavery in Israel with the winking approval of the local policealongside the nude model on your back cover. There are nudes offered up everywhere, but not in publications we welcome into our home. We all have a healthy sexual nature given by God, but He never intended for it to become lewd. And Torah is explicit about what is lewd and what is not. |
