Summary:After dismissing a heart attack, doctors concluded that [Graeme Northcott] was suffering from cardiomyopathy, the same viral heart infection that claimed the life of Green MP Rod Donald. With no treatment available, Graeme was given little hope. Despite the setback, Graeme is now as busy as ever. In addition to running his 512-hectare farm and his busy schedule as a dog trial judge and competitor, he covers a large area of Taranaki delivering dog food to more than 250 clients. The visits have proved such a hit that an AFS group voted it the most enjoyable part of their trip to New Zealand. But Graeme's main passion is his dogs. With a long family tradition in sheep dog trialling, Graeme competed for the first time 39 years ago. "I entered with a dog I paid two pound for, and have been hooked ever since."
