Summary: | They met yesterday to discuss processes they will look at to determine which site will best suit all concerns. A discussion paper was presented by Wayne Stewart, project consultant from Works Consultancy, which looked at ways of determining the best site of those proposed: Albert Street, Cook Street, Maxwells Line and Shirriffs/Camp Road. The paper showed ways of weighing intangible effects of a bridge at each site (environmental, social and community impacts) against tangible effects (benefits and costs) using a simple graph formula. Working party member Ormond Stock felt that the paper took the ownership of the decision process away from members. "Mr Stewart did present members with this methodology some months ago. This report was presented so members could take ownership of the issue. If you have any other suggestions, or any other ways we could approach the subject, please, write them down and bring them along to the next meeting," Cr [Marilyn Brown] said. |
