Summary:Neuqua Valley jumper and hurdler Jennie Whitman, who was responsible for 36 points to lead the Wildcats to the Kaneland sectional title, is one of two area Class AA performers with a top seed. Glenbard North junior Kristin Whitezell owns the top sectional time in the 1,600. The area mile contingent is even larger than their half-mile counterparts. Whitezell, whom [Sam Polock] defeated in the DuPage Valley Conference championship, has the leading time (5:06.04) entering the state meet. Naperville North sophomore Lisa Bonistalli, a top- rated two-miler, qualified in the 1,600, as did three other area underclassmen-Megan Brunick (Waubonsie Valley), Andrea Kruszka (Neuqua Valley) and Vanessa Pfafflin (York). Waubonsie Valley junior Kate Williams won the pole vault last Friday at the Kaneland sectional to qualify for this weekend's state meet.
