Summary: | There's more fun to be had watching traffic lights change than from listening to most remix albums. As [Bebel Gilberto]'s hit of last year had great tunes to start with, even the most cack-handed DJ was going to be hard-pressed to muck them up completely, but whether anything here bears comparison to the already fashionably distressed originals is doubtful. Ray&Christian lend a nice bit of dirty-funk to "Bananeira", but 4Hero should be taken to court for their incredibly naff drum'n'bass mugging of the divine "Samba da Bencao". But hey, it's a remix album; no one's listening anyway. Phil Johnson |
