Summary: | NOEL BERKELEY, one of the ebullient personalities of Irish athletics, will be in search of a coveted double when the domestic cross country season builds to a climax with the staging of the National inter club championships at Naas racecourse tomorrow. Thanks, in the main, to the efforts of [Peter Matthews] nnd Berkeley, Dundrum South Dublin won the team title for the first time last season but among those queuing up for it now are Clonliffe, Mullingar, DCH and East Cork. At their best, [Teresa Duffy] and [Maureen Harrington] would have imposing claims for the title and another who comes into this category is Geraldine Hendricken who, like Seamus Power, was an impressive winner in the indoor championships at Nenagh. |
