Summary: | [Ann Abraham] received a dossier compiled by the all-party Pension Group and pensions expert Ros Altmann last week that contains eight charges of maladministration against the Government. The dossier is believed to present a prima facie case for further investigation, putting pressure on the Ombudsman to launch a full-scale inquiry. Separately, 47 complaints have been referred to Abraham by MPs (including one by David Willetts, the Tory work and pensions spokesman) on behalf of constituents who have suffered financially as a result of their pension scheme being wound up. They are calling for full restoration of their benefits, as well as compensation for distress. |
