Summary: | Most of the big networks were impacted by the drop-off. NBC set a record last month for its least-watched week during the past 20 years, and then broke it a week later. ABC's "Lost" is missing nearly half its audience, more than 10 million viewers from when it was a big hit. CBS' "Survivor" had its worst season ever. Many shows that took long breaks suffered this spring in the ratings book. Network brass did not anticipate viewer attrition for serial dramas. Even established hits such as "Heroes" and "Lost" came back after long vacations to noticeably lower ratings. Viewership for the "The Sopranos," which also had a long hiatus between new episodes, also is down this spring on HBO. Favorite shows: Many of your favorite NBC shows are on Comcast On Demand. Episodes of "The Office," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" are available the day after they air for 99 cents. |
