Summary: | "I expect to show everyone that I'll be dominant at this weight, but I know that every guy I face will be coming to knock off the former heavyweight champion," [Chris Byrd] said. "So, I'll train extra hard to make sure they don't get any ideas." MARC OF A CHAMP: Fashion designer Marc Ecko has teamed up with WBA champion Miguel Cotto in a sponsorship deal that will span Cotto's next three fights. Beginning with Cotto's fight against Alfonso Gomez in Atlantic City last night, Ecko's logo will appear on Cotto's trunks, robe and t-shirt. It is the first time that Ecko, who bought Barry Bonds' record home run ball, has sponsored a boxer. "Our brand has always stood for one thing, 'We are unlimited,'" Ecko said. "No challenge is too great, and we are fearless in the face of competition. Miguel has never backed away from a challenge and fights to win. Inside and out of the ring, he's also a gentleman, and we're proud to support him". |
