Summary: | Manchester residents were both hot and cold recently about the merit of a proposed ice rink and indoor soccer complex proposed for the city. On the agenda at a recent Board of Aldermen meeting were public hearings on two ordinances necessary to accommodate the proposal. One ordinance involved an amendment to zoning codes by adding another category of permitted business and requiring exceptions to off-street parking requirements. The second would authorize a special-use permit to operate the complex. Some residents voiced opposition to parking requirements for the site. There are 274 parking spaces planned. The current standard requires that there be one parking space for each 100 square feet of building area. |
