Summary:Dear Martha Carr: My mother is now in a nursing home and I am cleaning out the home where she and my late father lived most of their lives. It is really an enlightening experience! I think some things should produce more than what they would in such a sale. I am talking about such things as clothing and jewelry that was popular 50-75 years ago, the kind that people who wear vintage clothes would like to have. Do you know of any shops that would sell these things for me? All the profits from whatever we are able to sell go to pay my mother's nursing home bill. G.C. Yes, there are consignment shops that will take the jewelry and lots of other items that your mother accumulated in her lifetime. I am sending you a list that we made up several years ago. Call the places in your area to learn what they will accept on consignment.
