Summary:Labour has an agreed policy on electing MPs. It is to hold a voting referendum to let the people decide. It is a policy that can unite all Labour candidates and illustrates the new politics of consulting people about decisions taken in their name and specifically on the sort of democracy they want to live in. The MPs who are promoting the FPTP system need to explain why they have spent the last three years opposing the referendum and, having lost, are now trying to mandate the party against change.
