Summary: | I AM in Belgrade and from the ordinary citizen's perspective the sanctions are already working. Factories are closing, inflation is disastrous, petrol is rationed and public transport has been cut. Hospitals and emergency services are barely functioning. The average salary in July was 18,000 dinars and the average cost of basic food and household items was estimated to be 33,000 dinars a month for a family of four, not including electricity and rent.
