Summary: | Q: What gaps are there in DeKalb County's history? A: Our special needs focus on unincorporated areas like Ellenwood, Scottdale and East Lake. We can always use more information about specific people. Churches are a good source of information, too; many in the county are more than 100 years old. We're trying to build our history of international connections as well. And, we need to pay attention to our various ethnic communities. African-American history in particular is important to DeKalb County; we have several African-American communities that are 100 or older. |
