Summary:With his team facing fourth down and 17 after a sack and trailing by six in overtime, St. Pat quarterback Jason Leonard calmly stepped back into the pocket and drilled the football into the waiting hands of Bjornn Millan in the right corner of the end zone. Scott Davis kicked the point, and the Shamrocks (3-1, 1-1) walked off with a 14-13 victory. New Trier 27, Niles North 0: Mark Floersch (9 for 13, 131 yards) tossed three TD passes and ran for another as No. 13 New Trier tuned up for its showdown next week with Evanston by posting its second straight shutout. Mike Girardi had three of New Trier's eight sacks. James Franke, Luke Proskine and Peter Lalond all caught TD passes. Highland Park 28, Maine East 7: Will Gray had first-quarter TD runs of two and three yards and Cesar Small and Fred Alaimo also had TD runs for the Giants (2-2). Maine East's Riyad Masri (13 carries, 134 yards) had a record-tying 99-yard TD run--the sixth time in Illinois history that has been accomplished.
