Massaquoi (10 carries, 74 yards) opened the scoring by going in from 15 yards out. Deerfield tied it on Bob Fraumann's 80-yard TD catch before Evanston took control. Tom Leineweber hit Montell Wilburn with a 38-yard TD pass one play after Sean Hopson recovered a Warrior fumble, and DeWayne Lewis (15 carries, 61 yards) had scoring runs of two and seven yards. Leineweber also hit Randall Mercer on a 48-yard scoring pass in the third quarter. Evanston held Deerfield to -7 yards rushing in the first half.
