Summary:Newsday's logic is flawed. Why have capsules been targeted? Because they're an easy target? With or without regulations on the sale of capsules, the opportunity to tamper with other products still exists. There are no increased incentives to tamper with other products simply because regulations are placed on the sale of capsules. Since the 1981 Tylenol tamperings in Chicago, the pharmaceutical industry initiated numerous tamper-resistant packages for capsules, yet capsules are still the target of sick individuals. There is no logic in their actions, so how can we predict how malicious individuals will react to new regulations?
