Summary:Dunn joined songwriter Tom Shapiro in a tie for the top spot in BMI's 44th annual country awards dinner hosted by BMI President and CEO Frances Preston and Vice President Roger Sovine. A total of 77 songs were honored during the black-tie gala at BMI's Music Row offices. More than 800 music industry professionals from around the world were present for the festivities. ``All of these awards presented tonight are being presented to you, who are dream makers of our industry,'' said Preston. ``All of you make the world a better place through your dreams, which are expressed through your lyrics and in your songs.'' I Can Love You Like That, by BMI writers Steve Diamond and Jennifer Kimball, won the 28th Robert J. Burton Award as the most-performed country song of the year. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Monday night honored the same song as its country song of the year. ASCAP member Maribeth Derry co-wrote the song with Diamond and Kimball, and Kimball was an ASCAP affiliate when she wrote it.
