Summary:Davis Park, Valley View and Bountiful Ridge remain the "Big Three." Davis Park was recorded around 87,000 nine-hole rounds in 2004, according to head pro Brad Stone. Valley View and Bountiful Ridge were in the upper 70,000 in nine-hole rounds. Before 1993, nine-hole rounds numbered roughly in the 300,000- 325,000 range between the county's four courses. In 2004, more than 500,000 nine-hole rounds were played between the nine courses. While the number of golf rounds are up county-wide, the numbers at Valley View, Davis Park and Bountiful Ridge are down. "Golf is a tough, tough market right now," said Glen Eagle course superintendent Mel Duke, who has been in golf course maintenance for 28 years, including stints at Valley View and Sandy's Willow Creek Country Club. "In the late 1980s and early 1990s there were not a lot of courses to pick from. Golf courses were full and revenues were up," said Duke, whose work has helped Glen Eagle get a 4 1/2- star rating from Golf Digest.
