In recent weeks, Taylor has been working mainly at Pataki's Manhattan office on LIPA business, rather than on Long Island, the source added. She now will work in Manhattan and Albany, McKeon said. Bloomberg's office said the mayor had nothing to do with Taylor's hiring. "He has every confidence that she got the job on the merits," Bloomberg press secretary Ed Skyler said. "It's hardly a surprise, considering her close ties and record of working for Gov. Pataki."
