Summary: | Vincenzo Pullara, 48, of Glendale, Queens, who was convicted in the January 1997 stabbing death of Steven Fentnor, 26, was granted a hearing, scheduled for June 24, to determine whether Pullara should be given a new trial. In March, Judge John M. Galasso heard arguments for a hearing from Pullara's attorney, Salvatore Marinello of Mineola, and granted the request after Marinello produced evidence he said could exonerate Pullara. Marinello said new evidence suggests someone else, an associate of Pullara, actually killed Fentnor, who was attacked by a group of men and stabbed at the OZ nightclub in West Hempstead. Nassau prosecutors argued against any new proceedings, saying Pullara was the only one who stabbed Fentnor. |
