Summary: | Many Latinos opted for [Michael Bloomberg] when [Mark Green] didn't fire campaign aides thought to have helped distribute racially tinged campaign fliers during the runoff between Green and [Fernando Ferrer], who was vying to become New York's first Puerto Rican mayor. The Rev. Al Sharpton said yesterday in Harlem that [Judith Hope] was used as "a sacrificial lamb" for the party unwilling to deal with "real internal problems." "I had a choice of whether or not I was going to sanction the Democratic Party forever disrespecting and marginalizing us," he said, even if it meant electing Bloomberg. Sharpton and Bloomberg have agreed to meet in the near future, Sharpton said. |
