Summary:While all politicians are putting aside partisanship to face a joint enemy, Ellis Henican is giving aid and comfort to that very enemy by falsely criticizing the efforts to keep the president safe from terrorist attack ["[George W. Bush] Absent While Rudy Reassures," Sept. 13]. His typical anti-Bush remarks are despicable in this time of national tragedy. Shame. We are free today and we are the symbol for all people who struggle with persecution. But faith in something more than ourselves has always been our glue. And it is this faith that will see us through this horrendous tragedy. If our enemies think that they have weakened us or our resolve, then they have no conception as to the truth of the American people. We are now knit tighter than ever before. Our enemies may have made the first strike, but rest assured we will make the last one.
