Summary:Yes, the plow came through the street, but, as usual, it left mounds of the white stuff blocking the driveways. After a while I heard sounds of shoveling, and there was my neighbor on the corner heaving the mountains of snow from my driveway on top of the piles on either side of it. Fearing that was not enough, she had shoveled the sidewalk from her house to mine while the neighbor on the other side had shoveled the additional sidewalk in front of my house-all 60 feet of it. The article "Residents: Snowplow Blades Were Up" [Jan. 6] omitted East Meadow. Prospect Avenue, a major thoroughfare, was a disaster. On Stratford Drive a sanitation truck went through three times. Never touched a snow flake. On the third pass he spread sand. This sand will now be here till June 15, 2001. That is the first time the street sweeping truck is scheduled to come to Stratford Drive.
