Summary: | Columnist Ellen Goodman need not worry about the so-called McCain Democrats ["To McCain's Democratic Fans - Wake Up!" Viewpoints, Feb. 27]. The John McCain candidacy is the greatest fraud since the Trojan Horse and is designed to the same end - to vanquish the enemy. Most of the Democrats and "independents" who voted for McCain in cross- over primaries want to undermine the GOP's nomination process. They have no intention of voting for anyone but Al Gore in 2000. Indeed, many of those involved willingly admit that it is their intention is to get McCain nominated and then vote for Gore. In every primary, George W. Bush has won the vast majority of the Republican vote. Where McCain won, he did so using these changeling voters whose motives are far from honest. Unfortunately, the Republican Party seems unable to protect itself from such shameless and fraudulent acts by the Democrats and their media allies. No, it is not the Democrats who need to wake up; it is the Republicans. |
