Summary:MERRITT ISLAND - Investigators here are hoping the conviction of a former Brevard County prison guard in a Michigan murder will help them solve two apparent killings 20 years ago. John Rodney McRae, 64, was found guilty Dec. 11 of killing a 15- year-old Michigan boy who disappeared in 1987. The teen's body was found last year on a farm where McRae had lived. McRae also is a suspect in two Brevard disappearances that occurred while he lived in Florida. No remains have been found of the 12-year-old boy and the 20-year-old man thought to have been killed in 1979, making it difficult to bring murder charges.
