The board opens up schools to anyone voting in a primary or election. Their cavalier attitude disregards student safety. I wrote to the board quite some time ago suggesting that it use alternate sites such as meeting halls, civic centers, fraternal buildings, church basements or fire houses. The answer I received was totally unsatisfactory and in essence suggested that school be closed on election days. No mention was made of primary days or board of education election days.
