Summary:Two recent Insight articles about teachers and military personnel leaving schools or military service for higher pay create a false impression. Most teachers, even those in math and science, don't have the required skills in programming, and teachers' colleges are not looked upon as turning out graduates with the skills needed for the workforce. As for military enlisted personnel with computer skills, they don't have the required advanced degrees in science and engineering - with minors in programming - needed for the jobs described in the story package labeled "Today's changing job market."
