Summary: | My 8-year-old daughter is learning about the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights has had her attention. She believes that she and her 6-year-old brother also need a Bill of Rights. What she hadn't counted on was the "Bill of Responsibilities" that we explained would accompany their Bill of Rights. Bill of Rights: Subjects (daughter and son) have a right to privacy in their own bedrooms. Bill of Responsibilities: Subjects must maintain their bedrooms within medium human standards of cleanliness (translation: maybe not as clean as Dad would like but better than Mom formerly let them get away with). |
