Summary: | The show - "[Mario Cavaglieri]: The Glittering Years, 1912-1922" - opens Oct. 2 and will run through Jan. 29. Thirty-six paintings from the artist's most creative period will be displayed. Cavaglieri (1887-1969) specialized in images of luxurious interiors filled with antiques, exotic collectibles and elegantly costumed women. Performers include organists John Weaver at 1 p.m., Gwendolyn Toth at 2 p.m., Walter Hilse at 3 p.m. and Joan Lippincott at 4 p.m. They will perform some of Bach's great works for the organ, including many of the Preludes and Fugues, the Trio Sonatas, the Passacaglia and the Schubler chorales. The afternoon will conclude with a performance of the Goldberg Variations by harpsichordist Kenneth Cooper. |
