Summary:Manager Al Certo had no questions about [Buddy McGirt]'s health and said he discouraged McGirt from using the left hook too often against [James Hughes]. Certo would rather see McGirt comfortably work the hook back into his repertoire. "He hasn't used the left hook in a fight in about a year," Certo said. "He's used it in the gym, but I didn't want him to get caught up with using it. I wanted him to work on his combinations. The hook has to come naturally." McGirt unveiled the left hook in the eighth round when he seemingly surprised Hughes with a shot to the body. Hughes winced and dropped his head, but McGirt didn't go in for the kill.
