Sierra was on scooter patrol in the 90th Precinct in Brooklyn shortly before noon, when he spotted a gold-colored, four-door car with an expired and partially removed registration sticker near the intersection of Catherine and Graham Streets in Williamsburg. After [Roberto Reyes] and Sierra exchanged gunfire, Reyes ran through the apartment building, dropped the gun in the grass and tried to escape through the backyard into a building on the next street, at 341 Meserole St.
