Summary: | The Hicksville water district has expressed reservations about the project because of its potential water usage, [Herbert Balin] said. The water district said it would be adversely affected by the estimated 2.2 million gallons of water the shopping center would use each year. But Balin told the board that the shopping center would use less water than the Farmer's Market, which had used 2.2 million gallons annually. Mary Ann Ferrado, of the Northwest Civic Association, in Hicksville, and Ellie Draycott, of the Midland Civic Association, also in Hicksville, listened to Balin's presentation but did not comment publicly on it. Draycott said she and Ferrado would probably send a written opinion to the board on behalf of their civic associations. |
