Summary:THE Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) is not surprised by the reported number of cut-and-joined cars (kereta potong) detected through vehicle inspections at Puspakom. It is not enough to send a car for Puspakom inspection only when there is a change of ownership. The Consumers Association of Penang has been advocating that all private cars, three years after their first registration, should undergo mandatory vehicle inspection. Thereafter, they should be inspected yearly.
