Summary: | Manasota Key took the brunt of Tropical Storm Josephine's wrath in Charlotte County, where waves crashed through the windows of one motel, flooded streets and undermined a cottage. Tuesday morning found broken windows and flooded rooms at Weston's Resort at the south end of the key, and bulldozers pushing sand off the Englewood Public Beach parking lot. The raging high tide Monday night also washed out the foundation of a beach cottage at the western tip of Coquina Lane. The little gray house was pitched toward the gulf on Tuesday, resting against a tree stump. |
