Summary:Although San Francisco police were being extremely cautious about the cause of 24-year-old Julie Day's death - to the point of saying it might have been an accident - District Attorney Terence Hallinan said Tuesday there is a solid case against her alleged killer. At an arraignment hearing for taxi driver Jehad Baqleh, Hallinan told Superior Court Judge Kevin V. Ryan, "Your honor, this is a solid, clear case of murder and the district attorney's office objects to any bail." Ryan, at the request of defense attorney Edward W. Pliska, put off the arraignment and bail hearing until June 1. Pliska said he couldn't proceed with Baqleh's defense without knowing the exact cause of Day's death, and San Francisco Medical Examiner Boyd Stephens said that is still some time away.
