Summary: | Mick Jagger will seek solo satisfaction by putting out his first non-Rolling Stones album in eight years this November. The strutting star, who turned 58 last week, will go the Carlos Santana route on this as-of-yet unnamed album, recording tracks with radio-friendly younger musicians. His collaborators will include the hip-hop-savvy Wyclef Jean and Missy Elliott, as well as Lenny Kravitz and matchbox 20's Rob Thomas, according to the Web site of his record company, Virgin. [Poul Anderson], who died Tuesday, was a former president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and a winner of three Nebula Awards and seven Hugo Awards. In 1997, the writers group named him a Grandmaster, and last year he was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame. Just last month, his novel Genesis won the John W. Campbell Award for the best science fiction novel of the year for 2000. Other works include Tau Zero, Midsummer Tempest and The Boat of a Million Years. |
