Summary:A couple of friends from Milford initiated us into the dinner- for-two routine. Each Wednesday night, they had a standing date at China Pacific for the special, which offers diners a choice of two appetizer-entree combinations. The first includes chicken wings, chicken fingers, teriyaki beef, Moo Goo Gai Pan and pork lo mein. The second consists of boneless spare ribs, crab Rangoon, teriyaki beef, beef and broccoli and pork fried rice. Being fans of crab Rangoon, we chose the second special. Shortly after we ordered, our waitress brought out two stainless dishes filled with steaming food. Reddish pieces of spare rib, skewers of beef and crispy pockets of crab Rangoon covered one; the other was filled with the beef entree and fried rice. The beef and broccoli entree did not go over as well. The dark- green broccoli was soggy, due to overcooking and saturation by the entree's brown sauce. A small dish of plain white rice to sop up the sauce would have been nice. The brown, pork fried rice was good, although our favorite starch at this restaurant is the China Pacific Fried Rice ($3.70 and $6), white rice with bits of veggies and meat in it.
