Summary: | "[Nando] was the Burlington Police Department's first K-9 officer, and Nando was my first dog," [John Fisher] said. "We trained together and rode together for seven years. We were constant companions, including he lived with me and my family. Here he was, this big German shepherd and my kids would crawl all over him and pull his ears and he'd just lay there." The dogs didn't get along, and Nando needed a new home. Fisher found one with neighbors, Cathy and Terry Busse. About two weeks ago, Fisher got a call that Nando had died in the Busse bedroom, next to their bed where he slept. |
