Summary:My squad leader (SSG Richard Norris) and I are zipping north in a HUMNV at this very moment, traveling toward Croatia (eventually Hungary, our final destination) along the same route that I wrote about some two months ago when I got the call to help the 55th Engineer Company redeploy. It's not quite the shock that the first trip was, but it's still enough to flip my mind into a daze seeing all this destruction again. We spent last night here in Croatia where I got a chance to watch the Florida-Tennessee game and then this morning we hopped on a bus and made our way toward our Hungarian-style golf game. The course was nice, though extremely wet, and we began play at approximately 10:30 in the a.m. The Camp Bedrock team was the last of seven teams to tee off so we got a good look at our competition for the day - all the ringers who would murder us in cold blood.
