Summary: | Under a canopy of trees with a floor of pine needles, Celtic wisewoman Anne Wilkinson sells her wares from a wooden, open-sided booth under the name "Goode Wishes, Handmade Medicine Bags and Charms." Wilkinson, a resident of Dunedin and a certified hypnotherapist when she isn't in character at the Renaissance Festival, sells all-natural objects such as leaves and stones. All are gathered by hand, and each represents a different charm or concern. The stones are placed in small felt or velvet bags to be carried in the pocket. "They are like worry beads," said Wilkinson, who has been practicing this craft for 22 years. "It is a physical reminder of things they are trying to change in their lives." |
