Summary: | Suzanne Payseur, 30, and Mike Palandro, 44, spread a Scrabble board on their blanket and enjoyed a game as well as the music. "I'm here for the jazz," Ms. Payseur said. "Tuck and [Patti] and Citiheat are two of my favorites." "We're from New Orleans, and that's why I like coming here to the jazz festival," Mrs. [Cathy Pitts] said. "We love the music, and this is a nice spot to have it. The weather's great." In addition to the donation container, festival officials sold souvenir pins for the first time this year to help keep the festival free to spectators. "The pins are really moving rapidly," said Dale Woodruff, president of the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation and a long-time volunteer at the festival. "We ordered 2,500, and I'm so afraid we're going to run out before the weekend's over." |
